15 Most Underrated 1980's Movies You Must See

8. Prince Of Darkness (1987)

Prince Of Darkness forms the middles part of legendary director John Carpenter's 'Apocalypse Trilogy' which starts with The Thing (1982) and ends with In The Mouth Of Madness (1995). Although not an official trilogy the films do explore similar themes, namely the end of the world. In Prince Of Darkness, a mysterious tank of green liquid is discovered that is apparently linked with Satan and Earth's demise. Inevitably (this is a horror film after all) several of the students studying the goo become possessed and bad things start happening. A group of zombies led by Alice Cooper turns up to add to the fun. The film is overlooked due to the strength of the films that Carpenter was making around that time and the confusing plot and the film was poorly received upon release. Worth checking out for horror fans (or Alice Cooper fans). Prince Of Darkness also has one of the most overlooked scare scenes of all time at the end of the film. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ii_tDeid7qU
