Given the MCU's trend of establishing villains and then not using them as the main bad guy in a follow-up movie (see Ulysses Klaue, Baron Von Strucker and Crossbones), there's every possibility that we won't actually see Michael Mando's incarcerated but vengeful Mac Gargan in the already announced Homecoming sequel.

But he'll definitely be involved in some capacity, which means we'll get to see not only one of Spider-Man's most famous unused villains, but also more of Mando, who is exceptional. His subtle, terrifying performance in Better Call Saul has been a revelation, and seeing him given the chance to play an even more colourful villain is great.

By the look of the augmentations introduced in Homecoming (and the muted take on the Shocker costume), he probably won't suit up as a full-blown Scorpion, but that's probably not the worst thing, given what happened with Paul Giamattis' Rhino.
