For a while, it looked like Marvel using the Skrulls would be impossible thanks to rights issues, but even before the Fox/Disney deal something was worked out that allowed the shape-shifting aliens to join the MCU for post-Infinity War's Captain Marvel.

That film will see the Kree/Skrull War taking centre-stage alongside Marvel's origin story, and hopefully, we'll see some seeding of a Secret Invasion movie event that could follow the Infinity Saga as the big story of Phase 4.

Anything that involves shape-shifting and possible sleeper agents (particularly if they're established characters) is exciting, and the Skrulls have been a long time coming to the MCU. Fingers crossed they're given more than just a cannon fodder job in Captain Marvel, because that would be a Chitauri-sized injustice right there.
