15 Upcoming Films That Could Score 0% On RottenTomatoes
10. The Angry Birds Movie
The Pitch: Because movie studios want to adapt every "viable" property they can get their money-grubbing mitts on, even a disposable video game you probably spend a few minutes playing when you're sat on the toilet now has its own movie. Plot details are scarce, which is unsurprising (if undeniably true to the source material). Why It Could Score 0%: Because despite an all-star cast including Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Bill Hader and Peter Dinklage, this is almost certainly going to play hugely safe to maximise its profit potential. A self-aware take on the material could work, but even with talented comic actors of this variety, it's almost certainly going to be an incredibly broad, bland animation with its sights set on breaking $1 billion at the box office above all else. Critics will have their knives sharpened for it ahead of release because it seems like such a cynical and perfunctory project, and while it could surprise everyone, that just doesn't seem likely at all.
