15 Upcoming Horror Films You Should Be Excited About

Yes, this is a totally different movie than the Abigail Breslin one, not called Final Girl but instead The Final Girls. It's pretty confusing. This film is a Scream-esque parody of the slasher genre, following the daughter of a famous scream queen who becomes mysteriously trapped in one of her mother's movies from the 1980s. 

So basically, The Final Girls will be like a classic slasher movie except with the characters completely aware that they're in a slasher movie, kind of like Scream except even more meta. It's got an awesome cast including Thomas Middleditch, Adam DeVine, and Taissa Farmiga, and though it seems pretty confident in the comedy, let's just hope it's able to bring some horror as well.

Although horror parodies are always fun, The Final Girls definitely needs to offer something new if it wants to stand out and be remembered at all. After movies like The Cabin in the Woods, simply having characters point out that people in horror films die after having sex isn't that clever or original anymore. Let's hope this one can bring some unique observations to the table.
