15 Upcoming Horror Films You Should Be Excited About

Guillermo del Toro is an absolute genius, directing the brilliant and scary Pan's Labyrinth in 2006, and he's returning to horror this fall with this Gothic ghost story, Crimson Peak.

The film takes place in a large, mysterious mansion in the 19th century where a young author finds that her new husband might not be who he appears. The trailer has some truly haunting imagery, like the final shot of the dark, ghostly hands grabbing on to Mia Wasikowska.

But it also just looks extraordinarily well made, with absolutely beautiful cinematography and gorgeous set design. Not too many horror films pay as much attention to the visuals as any other drama would, but Guillermo del Toro turns his horror films into works of art. Crimson Peak also features an incredible cast of award winning actors like Jessica Chastain and Tom Hiddleston.

This could be one of the scariest films of the year, but in addition to that, it could just be one of the best films period.
