15 Upcoming Movies That Might Be Surprisingly Awesome

4. Now You See Me: The Second Act

Release Date: June 10, 2016 Why It Could Suck: The original didn't exactly deliver on its promises, and if this is anything like that one, it's going to rely overtly on ludicrous plot twists rather than telling an interesting story to support that impressive style. Plus, it's been co-written by Ed Solomon, the man responsible for atrocities such as Super Mario Bros. and Charlie's Angels. Why It Might Be Surprisingly Awesome: If the first film was a great idea executed poorly, there's every chance this sequel will listen to audience complaints en masse and come up with something a little more water-tight. The cast is superb, with Lizzy Caplan and Daniel Radcliffe being added to the mix (with the latter playing Michael Caine's vengeful son), and in Solomon's defense, he's also written both Bill and Ted movies as well as the original Men in Black. If it emphasises what worked from the original while not trying too hard to trick audiences, this could be a rare sequel that substantially improves upon the original.
