12. Friday The 13th

Release Date: May 13, 2016...apparently. Why It Could Suck: Because don't most of the Friday the 13th movies suck, with the obvious exceptions being the original, the sixth one, the guilty pleasure classic Jason X and the relatively effective remake? Plus, who needs yet another reboot? And given how long this one's taken to get off the ground, it suggests Paramount have had problems coming up with a steadfast vision for the movie. Why It Might Be Surprisingly Awesome: Though rumours have persisted and then been shot down that the new Friday might be found footage or perhaps in 3D, it's probably not fair to judge the film too much yet considering that practically nothing concrete is known about it. While it would be easy for Paramount to once again rehash the familiar plot, hopefully Friday will instead surprise horror fans with a radical reinvention of the character, subverting the tired tropes of the genre and making Jason a force to be reckoned with once again. It may not be likely, but it's pretty damn far from impossible.
