Release Date: Jan 15, 2016 (US), Jan 29, 2016 (UK) Why It Could Suck: It's a Michael Bay movie, and he's probably one of the most inconsistent filmmakers working today, his movies being remembered more for their over-the-top bombast than their undeniably impressive visual flair. Why It Might Be Surprisingly Awesome: That said, Bay tends to serve up much more interesting results in the low(er) budget arena: just look at 2013's criminally underrated Pain and Gain. In addition, here he's working from an acclaimed book that's been adapted into a screenplay by Chuck Hogan, who himself previously authored the novel on which The Town was based. Plus, Bay is free of celebrity shackles, kitted out with a talented but lower-flying cast including the likes of John Krasinski, James Badge Dale and Pablo Schreiber.
