15 Upcoming Movies That Will Probably Waste Awesome Actors

3. Stephen Dorff - Leatherface

The Role: Texas Ranger Hal Hartman, a vengeful, corrupt lawman looking to hunt down the Sawyer family, who he believes murdered his daughter Betty.

Why He'll Be Wasted: Stephen Dorff is one of those tragic actors who is devilishly handsome, charming and has an incredible amount of talent, yet has been confined to straight-to-VOD jail years, with his last major theatrical release being 2012's The Iceman.

Sadly Leatherface doesn't look set to break the streak, as it's also going direct-to-VOD the same day it has a limited cinema release, more than two years after principal photography wrapped.

The trailer presents presents little indication that Dorff's going to be anything more than yet another cliched, a**hole cop, because the Texas Chainsaw franchise apparently doesn't have enough of them.

Dorff will do as much as he can to give the role nuance, but honestly, with how great an actor he is, he really shouldn't be needing to appear in films like this, especially this often.
