4. Whiplash

Just as Maya Hansen was cut out of Iron Man 3, Mickey Rourke's Whiplash was edited out of Iron Man 2 a little unfairly, notoriously pissing the actor off (as he was so publicly willing to confirm).

He was a fairly cool villain, motivated by the same sort of personal vengeance as Zemo in Civil War who came with his own fearsome tech and was unhinged enough to bring a new sort of threat to counter-balance Justin Hammer's more conventional corporate evil.

Sadly he was written terribly and the attempts at character development were limited to giving him a pet bird. And while Rourke had infamously requested more colour to his character, Marvel decided they wanted a simple villain and edited it all back out.
