3. Jane Foster

In the first Thor movie, Jane Foster is an important presence - it's through her that Thor really interacts with the real world and she sells the threat to Earth. But beyond that, she's pretty much the most boring and fatally underused character in the MCU.

She did manage to make it to the second Thor movie, but Natalie Portman's well publicised unhappiness working under Marvel showed in the second performance in particular. She ghosts through the movie, even though she's entwined in the plot and - quite literally - in the Aether, and she's nowhere near a match for the comic book version.

So pointless is she - even as Thor's love interest - that she's just dropped out of existence after the Dark World and it changes absolutely nothing.
