8. Maya Hansen

Before Iron Man 3 was released, we were all led to believe that Rebecca Black was going to be playing a fairly major role. Even Black herself believed that, as she revealed after the film was released:

“I signed on to do something that was a substantial role. She wasn’t entirely the villain – there have been several phases of this – but I signed on to do something very different to what I ended up doing."

So before the Mandarin and Aldrich Killian, it seems Hansen was supposed to be the big villain. But then rewrites - apparently based on Marvel's fear that a female villain wouldn't sell toys - cut her out when she tried to redeem herself by stopping Killian's malevolent Extremis plan. And the changes showed: Hansen ended up looking like a second thought, left in as a cursory attempt to not piss Black off too much.

Given how little she matters, it might have been better just to pay her and leave Hansen out altogether.
