10. The Return Of The Swamp Thing

Unfortunately for abused anti-hero Alec Holland - but fortunately for your sanity - everyone seems to forget about his two movies when they're doing run-downs of comic book movie history. Looking back on this low-budget, Heather Locklear-starring sequel, it's hard not to think that that much is probably for the best.

1989's Return Of The Swamp Thing stripped away all of what made the comic so popular: the pulpy darkness was sucked out and replaced by daft comedy that ultimately earned Locklear a Razzie for Worst Actress. The script is similarly terrible, studded with painful gags that wouldn't look out of place in a Superhero Movie parody.

There is some attempt at least to go for a self-conscious B-movie vibe, but it's never intelligent enough or complex enough to really deliver on that and it's probably best left forgotten.
