15 Worst Horror Films Of The 21st Century (So Far)
10. V/H/S: Viral
It's hard to think of a sequel in the 21st century more disappointing than V/H/S: Viral. It legitimately feels as if the filmmakers made a list of everything people liked about the first two movies in the horror anthology series, and then they went out of their way to not do any of those things. Did you enjoy the earlier entries for their found footage style, which made everything feel grounded in reality? Right from the first segment of Viral, found footage is thrown out the window. Did you like the whole concept of everything being on VHS tapes? Sorry, within the first few minutes, it's all about cell phone camera footage. Did you like the feeling that everything you're seeing could have really happened but it was covered up, and this footage is the only evidence? In Viral, a major plot point is a city-wide apocalypse. So much for being grounded, huh? The movie is nowhere near as good as the first two, and aside from that, its segments about magic capes and skateboarders fighting cult members just make for a bad horror movie in general.
