15 Worst Months To Go To The Movies Since The Year 2000

10. April 2004

Number Of Movies Released: 22 Rotten Tomatoes Average: 40% Number of Movies Receiving Lower Than 40%: 11 April 2004 was a pretty crowded month for movies. There were 22 movies released in just 5 weekends and half of them were poorly received. In fact, there were four films that received less than 10% on Rotten Tomatoes: Johnson Family Vacation, The Whole Ten Yards, Envy, and Godsend. Envy was the biggest head-scratcher of the bunch. It starred Jack Black and Ben Stiller when they were at the height of their careers and was directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Barry Levinson. It was so terrible, Jack Black actually apologised the movie at a press conference just a few months later.

This month did have a few saving graces. Shaun of the Dead and Kill Bill, Vol. 2 were both well-received by audiences and critics alike. Plus, Mean Girls was an enormous success. Who knew that would be one of the few highlights of Lindsay Lohan's short career?

Overall, though, this month is better off being forgotten about. After all, for the Easter holiday, audiences were forced to choose from Walking Tall, The Whole Ten Yards, and The Alamo. Perhaps they were better off hunting for eggs instead.
