The Scene: Protagonist Paul Maguire (Nicolas Cage) is busy accosting a man he believes to be an informant, and when the argument gets heated, Paul shouts, "You taaaaaaaaalked!". His "victim" tries to get a word in, but is mostly shouted down by Paul, who shouts, "You are a rat! Rat! Raaat! Raaaaaaat!" before the other guy smacks him in the face. On the off chance you want to see the scene for yourself, here it is. Why It Sucked: Nicolas Cage is one of the most intense and interesting actors of his era, but it's practically impossible to take this scene seriously from a dramatic perspective. His absurd facial expressions and hilarious shouting creates a brief scene of outrageously awful comedy in a film that's otherwise mostly forgettable and dull. So, on one hand, it's the movie's best scene, and on the other, the worst.
