So after battling it out for a good while, the film concludes with Kong and Godzilla falling into the ocean depths together. This causes a minor earthquake, and for a short while neither monster appears to be surfacing. Eventually Kong emerges and immediately begins swimming back to Faro Island, with not a Godzilla in sight. And that is how the clash between cinemas two greatest monsters ends. Its pretty anticlimactic to be honest. Both monsters kind of just give up, although at least Kong gets a proper send off. Godzilla on the other hand, while not dead of course, just disappears for some reason. The ending plays it safe, making it slightly ambiguous as to who won, as most of these high stakes versus films do, though Kong is clearly favoured, which is ridiculous. Im not saying Godzilla would win, but yeah, Godzilla would win, no question.
