During the final chase, Furiosa manages to hook Joe's breathing mask to his car's wheels, causing the rotation to rip the mask from Joe's face, while taking a decent chunk of his face with it too. Though, like the rest of the movie, the gore here isn't excessive, the idea is plenty horrifying. Rather than opt for a clunky mano-y-mano fight between Max and Joe, this is much cleaner and simpler. Plus, there's an added gory shot of Joe's grotesque facial remains once he's brought back to the Citadel moments later.
