13. Colm Feore - Thor/The Amazing Spider-Man 2

It hasn't quite happened yet, but the moment Colm Feore's casting in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was announced was the same moment that Spidey fans across the web assumed that we were going to get to see Vulture in the sequel. Ultimately, that not-discouraged furore was misplaced as Feore instead played Norman Osborn's corporate aide Donald Menken - a character who was already known to Spider-Man fans, and decidedly not as one of the characters who went on to become the winged menace in the comics. Nevertheless, that may still happen since Marc Webb is already looking to build his Sinister Six team for the sequel and spin-off, and Menken might be convinced to join up if Peter Parker starts to meddle with Oscorp affairs. Menken of course wasn't Feore's first comic book villain, as he played King Laufey in Thor just three years before that.
