16 Crazy Facts You Just Have To Accept To Enjoy The X-Men Franchise

1. Brett Ratner Almost Directed The First Film

Believe it or not, after Brett Ratner hit it big with 1998's Rush Hour, he was heavily considered to direct 2000's inaugural X-Men outing before the gig went to Bryan Singer. Just think about that for a moment: it's possible that with Ratner at the helm, the film could have been a mess and therefore a box office flop, ensuring the franchise never started and studios didn't end up seeing the money value of superhero pics outside of the most iconic norms. Of course, Ratner could have pulled off a competent film that printed money, but even so, pretty much everyone will agree that audiences and Fox got the better deal with Singer acting as the Godfather of the franchise. Thinking of the potential damage Ratner could have done is enough to keep you (and certainly Fox executives) up at night... What do you find yourself having to just come to terms with and accept about the X-Men franchise? Shout it out in the comments!
