16 Crazy Facts You Just Have To Accept To Enjoy The X-Men Franchise

14. Bolivar Trask Has Been Played By A Large Black Man & A Small White Man (The Last Stand & Days Of Future Past)

In Brett Ratner's controversial X-Men: The Last Stand, legendary action actor Bill Duke plays the head of the Department of Homeland Security, a man known only as Trask. Fans at the time assumed that, despite his difference in personality and appearance to the comic book character Bolivar Trask, Duke's character was likely the very same. Bryan Singer later confirmed this, and acknowledged the continuity conflict it created when Peter Dinklage later played Trask in Days of Future Past. Given the time travel mechanics of Days of Future Past, it's somewhat easier to just let the whole thing go, but even so, it's pretty hilarious that Trask has been played by total polar opposites: a tall black man and a white dwarf man. At least they were both men, right?
