16 Crazy Facts You Just Have To Accept To Enjoy The X-Men Franchise

12. Dodgy Viper Dubbing (The Wolverine)

One of the more distracting issues in a movie full of them is the absolutely dire dubbing job performed on Svetlana Khodchenkova's villainous Viper in The Wolverine. Shortly after the film began screening, critics and audience members began complaining that Viper's dialogue seemed slightly out of sync and not quite fitting with the actress's mouth movements. Soon enough, rumour spread online from set spies that the studio as a whole weren't happy with Khodchenkova's performance, cutting down her role drastically and having her part re-dubbed in order to sound more American. Whether she actually was replaced in post-production or the actress performed ADR herself, the results are shockingly inept for a major Hollywood production. Given that the vast majority of movies every year do dialogue replacement in post without audiences ever noticing, it's pretty poor form that director James Mangold let this one slip through the cracks.
