16 Crazy Facts You Just Have To Accept To Enjoy The X-Men Franchise

9. Xavier's Revival Makes No Sense (Days Of Future Past)

One of the more bizarre moments from The Last Stand takes place after the credits, when a dead Professor X re-appears in the body of a comatose patient, a stinger that proved to be more confusing than exciting. For one, why does Xavier still look and sound like Patrick Stewart in Days of Future Past? It makes no sense! A somewhat hokey explanation is given on the Last Stand DVD commentary, where it's suggested that the comatose patient is Xavier's brain-dead twin brother, giving a super-convenient explanation for Xavier's lack of change in appearance. Still, it doesn't explain why Xavier needs a wheelchair if he's got a new, presumably relatively healthy body, and no number of time travel quirks can really lampshade this logical flaw. Good luck trying to explain your way out of that one, Bryan Singer!
