16 Delayed 2021 Movies That Were Actually Worth Waiting For

14. Halloween Kills

No Time to Die Daniel Craig
Universal

This slasher sequel has been divisive and it's likely your appreciation of it will depend on what you're looking for.

If you're looking for something deeper and more character-based, a la this film's 2018 predecessor, then this could easily disappoint but those who find this film's pared-down and simple nature more acceptable, this will be a film that was worth the wait.

An eye-poppingly gory (literally, in one scene), brilliantly brutal and ferociously intense thrill ride that delivers one bone-crunching, blood-soaked set-piece after another, Halloween Kills is a very hard-hitting experience that sure as hell delivers on the suspense and also ensures that Michael Myers himself hasn't been this terrifying since 1978's original film.

It is thin story-wise, but in fairness it does have a couple of interesting developments and it's full of likeable, entertaining characters whose fates you will care about, so it's not a total loss in the writing department.

Overall, flaws and all, this is one of the best films in a frequently disappointing franchise and it's certainly better than most movies in the largely terrible slasher subgenre.
