16 Delayed 2021 Movies That Were Actually Worth Waiting For

Spiral: From the Book of Saw's delay was disappointing as hell given that it was one of 2020's most anticipated horror films, but the delay actually helped it in one key way. Because the film ended up coming out after the events of summer 2020, Spiral - which features a serial killer hunting corrupt cops - became even more topical.

Nonetheless, even ignoring the topical nature of its plot, Spiral hits hard. It might suffer from rushed pacing and a painfully obvious final twist, but it's a very entertaining and genuinely disturbing, thought-provoking serial killer flick that'll have viewers watching through their fingers more than once. The solid cast, surprisingly strong dialogue and absolutely brutal final scene elevate it even further.

It's certainly not an outstanding film in the slightest, but it is a good one and considering how bad several of the other Saw films are, that makes it feel like it was worth the wait in the end. And yes, it got mixed reviews but let's be honest: critics frequently get horror films wrong. Go in with appropriately measured expectations and you should have a good time.
