16 Horror Films Worth Getting Excited About In 2016
5. A Man In The Dark
Sam Raimi is practically a god to horror fans. After the Evil Dead trilogy and Drag Me To Hell, he's now working on the new Ash vs. Evil Dead TV show, but he will also be producing a theatrical film called A Man in the Dark. Just the fact that Raimi is involved instantly makes it a must see.
The movie will be directed by Fede Alvarez, the guy who made the surprisingly excellent 2013 Evil Dead remake, so it will be great to see him behind the camera again after not making anything since that film.
The plot centers around three teenagers who target the home of a reclusive blind man for robbery. When they break in, though, they quickly end up with more than they bargained for and end up fighting against a psychopath.
This is an Evil Dead remake reunion in more ways than one, as the film will also star Jane Levy. In Evil Dead (2013), she was among the most badass female horror characters ever, but she hasn't done anything else in the genre.
If she really wanted to, Levy could be one of this generation's most memorable scream queens. A Man in the Dark is exciting for a number of reasons, then, as the return of Fede Alvarez and Jane Levy to horror, and another cool sounding Raimi project.
