16 Horror Films Worth Getting Excited About In 2016

11. Visions

The Doll Horror 2016
Blumhouse Productions

From Blumhouse Productions comes Visions, which could be a pretty decent ghost story that also revolves around the horrors of pregnancy, Rosemary's Baby style.

The movie stars Isla Fischer as a pregnant woman who moves into a new house and begins experiencing some spooky visions. No, it's not the most creative plot, but the biggest daw of this one is the cast. For whatever reason it's got not one but two sitcom stars in it: Jim Parsons of The Big Bang Theory and Gillian Jacobs of Community.

If only for that novelty, it deserves to be on your radar.

Blumhouse has also been relatively consistent with their output lately, producing movies like Sinister, Insidious, Paranormal Activity, Creep, and Oculus to name a few. They're almost like the Pixar of horror in that every time they've got a film out, genre fans will want to give it a watch based on their name alone.

The studio's had their duds like The Gallows, which would be the Cars 2 of Blumhouse, but for the most part there have been more hits than misses.

The movie is directed by Kevin Greutert, who was responsible for the awesome Saw VI as well as the okay Jessabelle. It's unlikely to make any best of 2016 lists, but Visions should be another moderate success from Blumhouse.
