17 Crazy Facts You Just Have To Accept To Enjoy The Fast & Furious Franchise

8. Fast & Furious Is Too Serious & Dull

Easily the worst of the six movies to date (something that's unlikely to change in the future), the lazily-titled Fast and Furious really made it clear what had to change in the franchise if it was going to survive, because it was really, really bad. Even ignoring the overabundance of CGI that's already been mentioned, the real problem with the fourth film is that it takes itself far too seriously. With Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) being killed off early on, much of the movie becomes a somber murder mystery as Dominic investigates the nature of her death and who was behind it. There's a real sense of fun missing from this movie, and aside from taking itself far too seriously, it's also incredibly dull: none of the racing gets the pulse moving, nobody seems particularly enthusiastic, and it's simply the most unimaginative and "meh" chapter in the whole saga.
