17 Crazy Facts You Just Have To Accept To Enjoy The Fast & Furious Franchise

4. The Bank Vault Chase Probably Can't Be Topped (Fast Five)

Though Fast and Furious 6 tried its hardest to top the insane action of the previous movie, there's just nothing in this franchise as gloriously mental as the Rio bank vault chase in Fast Five. Watching the vault defying the basic laws of physics, being flung around the streets of Rio and taking out cop cars like they're toys is ridiculously entertaining to watch, and pulled off superbly by Justin Lin. The sad fact, though, is that the set-piece is so stupendously well-executed that it's probably never going to be topped, especially considering that Lin is done with the series. James Wan and whoever directs subsequent features will struggle to find a way to outdo the vault chase, just as Lin himself did in the sixth film, because it's such an original and hilariously demented action scene. Fingers will be crossed for Fast and Furious 7, even if it's unlikely to find a way to top this classic scene.
