17 Subtle Star Wars Easter Eggs And References In Other Movies

4. Club Obi Wan - The Temple Of Doom (1984)

The Temple of Doom picked up where Raiders left off in terms of Star Wars references, with Spielberg burying a number of sly nods to Lucas in his second Indiana Jones film. The most blatant, and subsequently most well-known reference is the name of the Shanghai nightclub where Indie is double crossed by Lao Che. He met the crime lord at Club Obi Wan to trade Nurhachi's ashes for a diamond. A lesser known, even cooler link to Star Wars through Harrison Ford is the sound effect used on the plane near the beginning of Temple of Doom when the engines begin to fail. The exact same effect was actually used in The Empire Strikes Back when Han was experiencing some similar technical difficulties with the Millennium Falcon.
