17 Things You Didn't Know About Austin Powers

2. Screen Testing Does Cause Changes

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOZYoa_pod0 The most famous moment from The Spy Who Shagged Me is most likely a scene involving a lot of innuendo's about a rocket. Well as it turns out a screen test ended up changing this scene. Screen testing is a process where the studio screen the film to an audience and test their reactions to see what to change or improve. Usually this means a change in the editing process rarely does it ever mean that supplementary material is filmed. The rocket scene was so well received by the audience in the screen test however that the producers decided it would be better to film extra material for the gag and insert it in to the film to extend the scene. Since it is usually regarded as one of the funniest gags in the series we should all give some thanks to the people at the screen testing. Although we should not thank whoever decided to poorly re-use the joke in the third film Austin Powers in Goldmember, except that time it was about an oddly shaped satellite.
