A trend that occurs throughout the films is cringe-worthy, ill-judged moments. They don't come along that often but they are a very unwelcome distraction when they do happen.

Unsurprisingly, most such moments come from the Half-Blood Prince (most of its jokes, Harry and Ginny's rushed romance and the painfully anticlimactic finale) and Crimes of Grindelwald (most prominently its AWFUL final act) but the other films are far from exempt, despite their higher quality. Of course, "Did You Put Your Name Into The Goblet Of Fiyah?!?!" is what everyone still remembers, but there are plenty of other examples too.

Some of the worst examples include: the Forbidden Forest detentions, "He was their FRIEND!", Harry dumping poor Cho Chang (Katie Leung) over something that wasn't her fault, Ron (Rupert Grint) randomly ditching Harry and Hermione (Emma Watson) in Deathly Hallows Part 1 and Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) trying to calm one of the beasts down by doing a silly dance in the first Fantastic Beasts film.

Helena Bonham Carter's cringe-worthy and criminally overrated performance as Bellatrix Lestrange, in which she was painfully over-the-top, also provided plenty of face-palm moments.
