18 Crucial Questions For 2015's Most Anticipated Movies

9. Can The Fantastic Four Reboot Make Everyone Forget The Previous Attempt?

Release Date: August 7th After the previous two Fantastic Four movies were, to be kind, total busts, was anyone particularly eager for the series to be rebooted, especially so soon after the last effort fell so flat? Nevertheless, with talented director Josh Trank (Chronicle) at the helm and a fine cast including Miles Teller (Mr. Fantastic), Kate Mara (The Invisible Woman), Michael B. Jordan (Human Torch), Jamie Bell (The Thing) and Toby Kebbell (Dr. Doom), there's plenty of potential for this new take to completely erase the painful memories of Tim Story's weak attempts. Granted, there are reasons to be skeptical: firstly, are many people really interested in another Fantastic Four movie? Plus, the Dr. Doom suit looks absolutely ridiculous, and his character has reportedly been repackaged as a programmer called Victor Domashev rather than the Victor von Doom comic book fans know and love (and hell, even the previous movies got this one right). Verdict: Trank is a fine director and hopefully won't be overwhelmed by the large budget. It's likely that even if the plot sucks, he'll be able to deliver some riveting set-pieces, and the cast's credentials speak for themselves. It's probably not going to be a masterpiece of any kind, but with the promise that it will be more grounded and less goofy than the previous films, hopefully audiences will get something a little more, well, fantastic.
