18 Crucial Questions For 2015's Most Anticipated Movies
13. Does San Andreas Make Tons Of Money Just Because It's Named After A GTA Game?
Release Date: May 29th This upcoming 3D Dwayne Johnson-starring disaster flick has a title that, for many who don't live in the US, conjures up three words: Grand Theft Auto. Though the title of this movie is obviously referring to the San Andreas Fault, it's easy to imagine that Warner Bros. suspect that simply giving the movie the title "San Andreas" will be an easy way to entice anyone who has ever played Rockstar's acclaimed video game. Though few will go in expecting a GTA movie adaptation, the mere title will attract more attention to the film, and if people actually like what they see in trailers, then all the better. Titling the movie akin to one of the most popular video games of all time is a pretty smart way of heightening its box office potential, and it's difficult to believe that it wasn't totally deliberate. Verdict: There's a good chance the title will drum up plenty of interest, and unless the trailers look absolutely abysmal, expect this one to be a pretty strong success, especially with Johnson as the lead.
