18 Disney Movies Coming In 2021 And Beyond
9. Nimona
Based on Noelle Stevenson's web comic of the same name, Disney will release Nimona on 14th January 2022. The animated movie that came over to Disney with Fox, will follow the titular character as a shapeshifting sidekick to the villainous Lord Ballister Blackheart.
Patrick Osborne, who has worked as an animator on the likes of Tangled, Wreck-It Ralph, and Big Hero 6, will make his feature length directing debut, but there are no casting details to be seen as of yet. Though unaffected by Disney's most recent reshuffle, the movie has seen more than its fair share of push backs.
Osborne was originally hired to direct way back in 2015, and in 2017 the movie was given a release date of February 2020. This was knocked back after Disney's acquisition of Fox, and has since been delayed yet again. Hopefully this movie can escape developmental hell sooner rather than later.
