The Film

After years of not being able to use Spider-Man because of rights issues, Marvel welcomed him to the MCU for his first solo movie with promises of the spirit of John Hughes and Harry Potter. And on top of those achievements, it also introduced the best ever Spider-Man in the shape of Tom Holland and one of the best MCU villains of all in Michael Keaton's Vulture.

The spectacle is there, there's no over-reliance on other Avengers (despite Tony Stark's presence) and it's absolutely packed with heart. If only we could have MCU Spidey movies forever.

The Moment

It's not the ferry disaster or the final plane battle that stands out the most in Homecoming, it's a smaller, more tense moment between hero and villain as realisation dawns between them of who they are. Having discovered that Adrian Toomes is the Vulture, Peter is shocked to discover that he's also his homecoming date's father, leading to an incredibly tense meeting.

But then things are dialled up massively when Toomes drives the young couple to the dance and realises that Peter is in fact Spider-Man. It's magnetic to watch and the tense threat Toomes offers Peter as he gets out is a thing of menacing beauty.
