18 Greatest Moments In Every MCU Movie (So Far) - Ranked
6. "What Are You The God Of Again?" - Thor: Ragnarok
The Film
After the disappointment of Thor: The Dark World, Marvel went strange with follow-up Ragnarok, hiring quirky comic director Taika Waititi and handing him three major comic book events to play with and an ensemble of popular characters.
He didn't disappoint, making something that worked as part of his own body of work as well as in the MCU and the success of the film as a pure comedy was stunning, given the subject matter.
The Moment
Having been robbed of Mjolnir (and seemingly his powers - at least in his own mind), Thor comes face-to-face with Hela in Asgard and is rewarded with his eye being plucked out. But then a quick spiritual visit to his father emboldens him and he commands lightning without the aid of his hammer, blasting Hela away temporarily.
What follows is an incredible, exciting sequence set to Led Zeppelin's Immigrant's Song that is by far the best choreographed sequence in the entire movie and gives us a true, compelling hero moment for Thor.
