The Role: Cranston will play a Malcolm in the Middle-era version of himself, prior to his career-defining success on Breaking Bad.

Why It's Unexpected: Considering that Cranston has absolutely zero to do with the origin story of infamous The Room filmmaker Tommy Wiseau (James Franco), it's hilariously bizarre that he is being essentially retconned into it here. But Hell, why not?

Will It Work?: Early reviews suggest that not only is the James Franco-directed film very good, but Cranston's brief role is a lot of fun. Get hype.
