18 Insanely Messed Up Movies You Might Not Be Able To Handle

9. Lesson Of The Evil

The House That Jack Built
Toho

From one Takashi Miike film to another, this J Horror flick should've been called 'School Shooting: The Movie', since that's basically what it is.

Lesson of the Evil centres around Seiji Hasumi, a high school teacher and psychopathic serial killer; at his school, he brutally murders exam-cheats, school bullies and those who suspect him. Eventually, he commits a murder where he doesn't have an obvious way to disguise it, so what does he do?

He goes on the rampage with a shotgun and massacres virtually every student in the school that night (with VERY bloody results), so that he can frame another teacher for it.

This is a truly sick film and not in a good way. The school shooting is absolutely horrible and it's not quick either; it lasts for ages and features many long scenes of teenagers screaming and begging for their lives before being murdered. It's horrifically vile, sadistic as hell and only two students (out of a large number) survive. Hasumi does get caught, but it's hardly a happy conclusion.

Lesson of the Evil is the most obscure film on this list and it should stay that way. The direction and central performance are OK, but it isn't very well-written or structured and is so gratuitously unpleasant that you'll feel dirty while watching it, especially since we live in an era where school shootings are tragically common.
