Now its a little far-fetched to say that any 8-year-old deserves to be left on their own for a week, but still In the opening moments of Home Alone, we see that Kevin taunts his mother whilst shes on the phone (Hang up the phone and make me, why dont you? when asked to behave), shows no lack of remorse at using his old mans glue gun in the garage (Did I burn down the joint? I dont think so.), not to mention making ornaments out of his dads new fish hooks. Then he has a bit of a hissy fit about having to pack his own suitcase. Yeah, maybe leaving him on his own is a little too harsh an example of tough love, but some could say that Kevin deserved some sort of comeuppance for his attitude.
