Jordan Peele first released his debut movie Get Out in 2017, praised for his unique spin on the psychological thriller genre. Two years later saw his second successful and downright creepy film Us, and fans have waited since for any news on a new release.

Only a few months ago, Peele released his first trailer for his own adaptation of the Candyman legend. Fans of the horror genre will remember the 1992 classic that haunted nightmares of those with a fear of wasps.

Following a superstitious college legend, a group of kids are haunted by the spirit of a slave with a hook hand, who can be summoned much like Bloody Mary by chanting his name five times in to a mirror.

The original concept saw three movies finishing in 1999, with Peele confirming that his new adaptation will take inspiration from the entire trilogy, whilst putting his own original spin on what we already know. Fans have been warned that this will be the creepiest film from the director, and of the Candyman franchise as a whole.

It will come as a direct sequel and will be classed as the fourth Candyman movie.
