Along with The Conjuring, James Wan's first long running successful franchise came from the Saw movies, a selection of narratives that spanned nine films including the latest movie 'Jigsaw' in 2017, with serial killer John Kramer returning to complete his final puzzle 10 years after he met his demise.
Earlier this year it was announced that a new and different take on the Saw films would be hitting cinemas titled 'Spiral: From The Book of Saw', with a cast being announced not long after including Chris Rock and Samuel Jackson.
Wan has since announced that he is not connected to the release and will not be partaking in directing, though Chris Rock is said to be taking on the producer role.
The trailer showed a new set of gruesome murders on the rise targeting the cops on the streets, with a killer on the loose that is trapping unsuspecting victims to teach them moral lessons, just like Kramer orchestrated in the originals.
The movie has since been moved to a year from its original release date and will now be hitting cinemas in May 2021.
