With Marvel drawing up some exciting projects for the coming year, comic book movie rivals DC have announced their own plans for the future. After the controversial success of the Suicide Squad movie back in 2016, the company have recently released news for a sequel, which will be directed by Guardians of the Galaxy creator James Gunn.
The film is set to include an epic cast, including some familiar faces from the original alongside new personalities. Gunn has been praised for taking on the project, with promises that this will be even bigger, better and epic than the first.
Margot Robbie is returning as Harley Quinn and Jared Leto as The Joker, with Idris Elba, John Cena, Sean Gunn, Peter Capaldi and many more appearing as new faces.
Fans of the comic book movies are split in opinions following Gunn's move from Marvel to DC, but it is no secret that his take on comedy and action gain a wide following which may be just what the franchise needs.
A trailer is yet to be released, but promo videos show some exciting fight scenes in store for the antihero group, with an estimated released date of August 2021.
