18 Things You Somehow Missed In Reservoir Dogs
3. The True Value Of The Wedding Ring
When he was preparing to go undercover with the team to get everything that was needed to put Joe away, Freddy was told that he needed to be a great actor to pull it off. Anything less than great acting was bad acting, and the same could be said of his backstory.
There were certainly levels to this. He meticulously rehearsed his story about the drug deal gone wrong in the bathroom, and likely much more of his story before joining up with the crew, and there was also the unspoken aspect of his wedding ring.
The ring is never mentioned outright, though just before he goes out to Eddie’s car he turns back into his apartment to retrieve it from a tray of loose change. As Freddy, he never wears the ring while as Mr. Orange he is never without it, so this marriage is all a part of his cover.
Though it is invaluable in the regard of protecting his story, and consequently his life, the true value of the wedding ring can be shown by the fact that he keeps it in the same regard as likely less than a dollar’s worth of loose change.
