17. So, What The Hell Are The Rules Here?
Where exactly do they draw the line in what is alive? Food is obviously the main star of the show, but over the course of the film we get to see toilet roll, a tampon, a condom... So are we to accept that it's just things sold by supermarkets? In America, they sell guns in supermarkets - do they have personalities too?
And how come the gas canisters Barry uses at the end in the battle scene don't have faces and personalities? What are we without rules?!
And what about meat products? They were already once sentient, so how come when they're minced, or cured or turned into hotdogs, they're alive again? It's all incredibly confusing.
