19 Awesome Movie Cameos Nobody Saw Coming

7. Kevin Smith & Jason Mewes - Scream 3

Cameos don't come much more bizarre and out-of-place than Jay and Silent Bob themselves (Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes) appearing for about 20 seconds in Wes Craven's slasher sequel Scream 3.

When reporter Gale Weathers (Courtney Cox) is on the Sunrise Studios lot, she crosses paths with the stoner twosome, with Jay mistaking her for real-life reporter Connie Chung and asking her, "Hey Connie, how's Maury?" (Maury Povich being her husband).

Gale responds by giving Jay the finger, and in typical Jay fashion, he tells Bob, "Dude, I think she likes me, man. See how she's looking at me?"

It seems that Craven and Smith had some sort of quid pro quo gag going on here, because Smith then included Craven in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back the very next year, as the director of Scream 4, of course.
