Rotten Tomatoes score: 93% The Mission: Impossible franchise has been surprisingly consistent in quality and entertainment value throughout the years, despite beginning all the way back in 1996 and having an association with Limp Bizkit in the form of the best song on their Chocolate Starfish album (which is kind of a backwards compliment). The fifth installment in the M:I franchise, Rogue Nation, proved that the franchise was not only still relevant but chock full of ass-kickery, instantly helping you to forget that Tom Cruise was once a dwarf who curb-stomped Oprahs couch on television. Playing the titular Ethan Hunt, Cruise and his team take on the Syndicate, an International rogue organization committed to destroying the IMF. Renner reaffirms his role as the IMF Field Operations Director, William Brandt, from Ghost Protocol. His hair remains steadfast in its shape, no matter how many natural elements throw themselves at it. You should see this if: you prefer action films to include not only jaw-dropping stunt work but also an engaging story and dynamic character work.
