6. Ultron Kills Quicksilver
Joss Whedon loves killing off beloved, likeable characters, and he was at it again in Age of Ultron. Though the smart money was on Thor dying (as he could easily return), it was new recruit Quicksilver who bought the farm in the end, being peppered with bullets from Ultron's hijacked jet. Quickie runs in front of Hawkeye while he's trying to protect a small child, and in relatively grisly fashion for a PG-13 movie, is left full of bloody holes. He quickly dies without much fanfare, all while Scarlet Witch's agony at losing her brother causes her to let out a psychic burst, destroying a bunch of nearby robot minions. Given that Days of Future Past Quicksilver was the better one, it's not a huge loss, though at the same time, more probably could have been done with the character before offing him.
