18. "Sam Is So Gay For Frodo"
This homo-romo drama has gone on for far too long. It's no bad thing for characters to fall in love no matter what their gender, but not everything has to be about sex. And one of the most beautiful things about the entire trilogy is the relationship between Frodo and Sam, summed up in that one achingly beautiful line:
"I'm glad you are here with me. At the end of all things, Sam."
Their friendship literally gets put to the test and they still remain loving and loyal to one another; which is why their separation at Grey Havens is pretty much the worst thing you can ever watch.
